Brooke and John dropped by the other day for a catchup over some freshly baked coconut slice and a cuppa. They have the most amazing plot over at their lovely house on the northside of Brisbane, it thrives all year round with much edible goodness alongside chickens and quails. So naturally each time we catch up conversation leads into the garden and I begin to rack John’s brain of all his growing wisdoms.
The one thing I love about our catchups is the sharing of each other’s fresh organic produce. So you can imagine the look on my face when they arrived with a stockpile of freshly picked, jalapeños, passionfruit, guavas, macadamia nuts, home smoked chipotle peppers alongside a healthy passionfruit root stock and sweet potato slips for planting into our patch. During the exchange we happily filled a basket with over 60 of our finest habanero chillies which John assured me will make the perfect base for some steaming hot chilli picante!
