While we prepare for a Christmas spent lazing on the beach, surfing, BBQs & basking in the sweltering Australian heat, I can’t help but think of my friends & family back in Switzerland rugged up in front of the fire with a hot chocolate held tightly in both hands. It is beautiful way to spend Christmas and as much as I enjoy the sun & surf I can honestly say I miss spending my Christmas in these conditions.
The following two photos I shot back in Switzerland on my last return, the first on the far western {French} side of the country, the second on the far eastern {German} side, both in the respective villages of my wife’s grandparents.
On that note I wish you all a Merry Christmas, Joyeux Noël & Fröhlichi Wiehnacht have a safe & happy break and all the best for the coming New Year!

The idea stemmed during a week long surf trip in late 2010. We were living simple in a friends family beachside shack, minus the distractions of computers or televisions and armed with a notebook & pen, we laid down the foundations of what would be ‘Chez Beauvardia’.
Set to launch early next year almost a year from those original note takings, we are ready to share our plans with you. Chez Beauvardia will involve our passions for fine art, photography, home decor & DIY, combined with our mutual love and respect of the ocean & accompanying lifestyle.
Make sure you head over to our website and signup to be the first to find out when we open our doors for business!
Thanks for your support,

A couple of ales I’m enjoying at the moment.

Burleigh Brewing Co.’s 28 Pale Ale. This brew is perfect for sitting back on the deck after a summer arvo mowing the lawn or post surf hydration. As the back of the label reads ‘The 70′s brought us two momentous events: a new style of Pale Ale and a perfect 28-day-swell at Burleigh Heads’.

Like a fine old wine Endeavour’s True Vintage Amber Ale stays ‘true’ to its name. A conditioned ale with complex malted barley flavours that will perfectly match meat dishes and reward careful cellaring.
